Move & Make is a playful, collaborative space where we question the definitions of design and dance, experiment with different ways of working, and focus on community-based projects and outreach.
Move & Make is a fictional (possibly future?) studio that I created for myself as a way to think about fulfilling the long term goals I have for my practice, including building experimentation and play into my daily practice, bridging and expanding the fields of design and dance, and being able to incorporate a variety of work into my practice, including collaborations, community outreach, and teaching.
Below is the Move & Make humanifesto and a double-sided promotional poster I created for the studio. The poster contains our humanifesto and a series of creative exercises I wrote that the average non-designer / non-dancer can play with to break the ice and broaden their understanding of design and dance (these are perforated and can be torn out and taken with you). This poster was created using four of the exercises.
